
Last week the Florida Department of Education barred a new Advanced Placement course on African American studies from being taught in Florida high schools. Initially the letter to the College Board, the state claimed the material violated Florida law but gave no specifics or examples. Since, Florida’s commissioner of Education, Manny Diaz, Jr. has responded to the criticism via Twitter with an outline of the material they found objectionable:
