A teenage boy is dead following a fatal stabbing Friday at Harding High School in St. Paul, Minnesota.
According to the St. Paul Police Department, the events leading up to the stabbing are still unknown but a 16-year-old student was taken into custody in connection with the attack. A fixed-blade knife was believed to have been used in the attack. No others are believed to have been involved at this time.
Neither the victim nor the suspect has been identified but social media posts indicate that the victim was a 10th grader. He is the first homicide victim of the year for the city of St. Paul.
St. Paul Public Schools notably stopped using school resource officers amid the fallout from the George Floyd protests.
