Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Florida Department of Education are currently tied up in a feud with the College Board. The disagreement started with Florida’s rejection of the new Advanced Placement African American studies course on the grounds of critical race theory but has now reached the point where Gov. DeSantis is floating the idea of doing away with AP courses altogether.
President Biden weighed in on the feud, seemingly taking the side of the College Board:
“I think every kid, in every zip code, in every state should have access to every education opportunity possible” said Biden via twitter. “I guess, for some, that isn’t the consensus view.”
DeSantis alluded to finding different “vendors” for the services currently offered by the College Board including AP classes and even the SAT.
The College Board has fired back at DeSantis and the Florida Department of education via open letters on their website.
