EA Sports College Football Returns: eligible players to be featured in new video game

Entertainment Arts (EA) has a new NCAA college football game on the way and this version of the game will include the name image and likeness of real NCAA athletes.

This will be the first release of the game in 11 years since NCAA Football 14. Previous versions of the game had featured the likeness of the athletes but ethical and legal questions around compensation put the series on hold indefinitely. New rules allowing college athletes to profit from their name image and likeness have re-opened the door to an authentic college football game with real rosters.

Though EA has secured the right to use NCAA athletes in a game it remains unknown what the actual compensation model will entail however it is known that players will have to opt in.
