Deadly Shooting Erupts at Virginia High School Graduation Ceremony

A shooting took place at a high school graduation ceremony for Huguenot High School held on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), resulting in seven people being shot and two deaths.

The deceased individuals were identified as a father and son named Lorenzo Smith and Shawn Jackson.

A 19-year-old suspect was apprehended by the police while attempting to escape and will face charges of second-degree murder. Allegedly the shooter had an ongoing feud with one of the victims that boiled over in an interaction at the graduation.

The incident caused panic among the attendees, with hundreds of students and guests fleeing the scene. A video of the chaotic moment was shared on Facebook.
