On Thursday, a torrential downpour hit Atlanta, causing significant flooding and chaos, particularly for students at Clark Atlanta University.

In just 15 minutes, the city received an astonishing amount of rainfall equivalent to three hours’ worth. Footage posted on social media showed a girl at Clark Atlanta University struggling to free her leg, which had become trapped between a door and a fridge due to the flooding. Friends frantically attempted to help her as water inundated their surroundings.

This flash flooding was attributed to a powerful storm that brought about two inches of rain in under two hours, leading to the inundation of downtown Atlanta. The Georgia Aquarium was closed for the remainder of the day. Students reported that although the college relocated those residing in the basement to other floors, they were not moved out of the building entirely.

Since, the university has relocated more students and received numerous donations.
